CHALLENGE
The Table santé et qualité de vie de la Côte-Nord (TSQvie 09) brings together partners from various sectors of activity in the region, including the municipal, healthcare, education and community sectors, with a view to improving living conditions and citizen participation. Although the Table was established a number of years ago, a certain loss of momentum was felt over the past year. But the arrival of a new coordinator was an opportunity to breathe new life in this movement, in order to achieve its full potential.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
MU Conseils worked with the TSQvie-09 executive committee to develop a program and facilitate a mobilizing event. Several elements served as guidelines for the event’s success, including:
- Identify workshop themes ensuring the meaningful use of the partners’ skills
- Create discussion subgroups during the participatory workshops and assign a facilitating resource trained by the MU Conseils team to each of them
- Offer a range of activities (e.g., panel discussions, participatory workshops, networking blitz) and facilitation tools (digital and printed)
- Include a few key moments in plenary sessions to encourage the development of a shared vision and collective commitment
RESULTS
- A collaborative event enabling over 35 partners from each of the North Shore regions to network in a spirit of openness
- A discussion on the main challenges faced in regional mobilization, with a view to tackling them by leveraging collective strengths
- Identification of the conditions for success of TSQvie-09 as a complementary and relevant lever for action
A near-perfect participant satisfaction rate and an assurance of the partners’ commitment to further consultation work
