CHALLENGE
With a view to actively investing in the well-being of the community, the municipal council of the United Townships of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury decided to undertake a strategic territory-wide planning process with a particular focus on the principles of sustainable development.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
A number of public consultation and co-development activities took place throughout the process, in order to benefit from the views of a wide range of local stakeholders and to provide the municipality with clear, structuring orientations reflecting their image. It was through this process that the municipality managed to translate the major collective ideals into concrete, realistic objectives within a mobilizing strategic plan.
RESULTS
- 589 responses to the online survey;
- 120 people took part in public consultations;
- 5 participatory workshops;
- 5 different spaces and channels for taking part in the process.
